It is time for our Annual Scouting Family Campout from June 12-14th, 2026.
All family members are welcome: parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, you name it.
This year we will be going to Kankakee River State Park in Bourbonnais, IL, approximately 1.5 - 2 hours away by car. We will camp together in the Davis youth campground. Fun activities include horseback trail rides, pony rides for the youngsters, fishing, and hiking, as well as spending time getting to know one another.
Campers need to bring their own:
Tents
Sleeping gear
Water bottles
Hot drink mugs
Costs are as follows:
$25 per person — includes meals and campground fee
Animal encounter add-ons:
$45 — 1 hour horse trail ride (ages 10 and up)
$22 — 30 minute horse trail ride (ages 10 and up)
$10 — 15 minute pony ride (ages 9 and younger)
IMPORTANT:Rides need to be booked in advance and will take place on Saturday or Sunday, depending on availability
Fishing:
Fishers ages 16 and up need a fishing license, available online from IL Department of Natural Resources
No additional cost beyond fishing license
Bring your own fishing rods, gear, and bait
