5 days of backpacking and camping on a 6-day trip. We will be traversing just over 28 miles on established backcountry trails at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, along Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We will be staying at a reserved group campsite each night, carrying everything we need on our backs – shelter, food, and a couple pairs of socks. The terrain is fairly flat, and the daily mileages are designed to be doable and fun, with plenty of time to mess around at the end of the day. Our merry band of trailsters will learn and live by the principles of Leave No Trace, self-reliance, and pride in a journey well-completed.
Cost per person is $250. This covers transportation to Michigan, a hotel for the first night, camping fees, and most of the food. Scouts will likely need to bring some money for food along the way.
